is the other half of “Twin” Erin Bates. Like Erin, she loves staying up-to-date with the latest trends. Shaunee is a member of the Nerd Herd and has an affinity for Fire.
Jack Twist
is Damien’s boyfriend, a complete sweetheart, and new to the House of Night. He is a technology genius and can install or hack anything. Jack takes care of Stark’s dog, Duchess, and spends much of his time keeping Duchess away from the cats at the House of Night.
Zoey Redbird
is the leader of the Dark Daughters and Sons and is in training to be the next High Priestess of the Tulsa House of Night.
Erin Bates
is best friends with “Twin” Shaunee Cole, who is also her roommate at the House of Night. She is very fashion-forward and boy conscious!
Damien Maslin
is a fun-loving member of the Nerd Herd, known for his impeccable vocabulary and ability to get along with everyone. Damien has an affinity for Air.
Dallas
is a red fledgling who lives in the tunnels with Kramisha and Stevie Rae. He is Stevie Rae’s right hand man, and consequently does lots of shopping at the Home Depot.
Kramisha
is full of spunk and attitude and is the first poet laureate of the red fledglings due to her exceptional writing skills. She lives in the tunnels below the Tulsa Depot.
Professor Lenobia
is the Equestrian teacher with high standards and low tolerance. She has developed a very close friendship with Zoey.
Professor Dragon Lankford
This Professor Lankford prefers to be called “Dragon.” He is the undefeated World Fencing Champion and the fencing instructor at the Tulsa House of Night.
Professor Anastasia Lankford
is the Spells and Rituals professor at the House of Night. She is married to Dragon Lankford.
Professor Loren Blake
is the youngest Vampyre Poet Laureate in vampyre history.
Darius
is a warrior and one of the Sons of Erebus. He can often be spotted with the Nerd Herd, and is one of the few who enjoys spending time with Aphrodite and Maleficent.
Shekinah
is the High Priestess of all vampyres and sits on the High Council.
Neferet
is the High Priestess of the Tulsa House of Night. Her Goddess-given gifts include special healing powers and great intuition.
Erik Night
recently completed the Change and is a substitute Drama Professor at the House of Night. He has won many awards for his performances.
James Stark
who prefers to simply be called Stark, is a transfer from the Chicago House of Night. He is the archery champion of all vamps, and hits his mark every time.
Stevie Rae Johnson
is Zoey’s best friend and the first fully Changed red vampire. She considers herself to be very “Okie,” and her favorite piece of clothing is her roper jeans. Stevie Rae is the leader of the red fledglings and has a very special affinity for Earth.
John and Linda Heffer
are Zoey’s parents, sort of. John is Zoey’s stepfather, and is a leader of the People of Faith.
Sister Mary Angela
is Prioress of the Abbey at a local church in Tulsa who is tolerant of the vampyres at the House of Night. She runs the Street Cats organization. Sister Mary Angela is currently taking care of Grandma Redbird.
Grandma Sylvia Redbird
is Zoey’s grandmother. She was raised in the Cherokee tradition and proves to be very helpful in explaining ancient fables.
Heath Luck
is Zoey’s on-again, off-again high school boyfriend and human consort, and also the quarterback for Broken Arrow High School’s football team.
Aphrodite LaFont
is the ex-leader of the Dark Daughters and the Frenemy of Zoey. Aphrodite is in vampyre/human limbo, but still possesses Nyx-given abilities such as prophetic visions.
Rephaim
is Kalona’s lead Raven Mocker.
Duchess
is Stark’s dog. Jack is currently taking care of her.
Nala
is Zoey’s cat.
Kalona
is a fallen immortal brought back to life by Neferet. In his past life, he was known for wreaking havoc and hurting women. Kalona has the ability to transform his appearance and appears beautiful to anyone who looks at him. Specifically, he has large black wings and golden eyes.
Nyx
is the embodiment of Night, and very similar to the Earth Goddess, Gaia. She is everywhere. Nyx gifts fledglings and vampyres with special powers. She is not jealous or vindictive, but she does not tolerate liars and her path is not always an easy one to tread.
